CIDT has partnered with StrangeLove and ICF to implement an IBC open-sourced bridge for Avalanche L1 and Cosmos.
Our team at Consider It Done Technologies held a discovery meeting with the StrangeLove team. During this collaborative session, we gathered all requirements to ensure a robust foundation for the project. As a result of our technical design phase - part of our core blockchain development services - we implemented the Avalanche Light Client and Tendermint Light Client as Avalanche precompiles, along with a Relayer. Based on the project needs, we determined that the appropriate tech stack for this project would include Go, BLS cryptography, the IBC protocol, and the Avalanche Consensus Protocol.
In order to create an effective bridge between Avalanche Layer 1 and the Cosmos Ecosystem, we identified several crucial roles to ensure the project's success. These roles included a System Architect, who would design the framework and integration strategies; a Protocol Developer, responsible for implementing the technical specifications; and an Automated Quality Assurance Engineer, tasked with testing to guarantee system reliability and performance.
By leveraging our expertise and available resources, we successfully completed the implementation within a timeframe of 14 - 16 months
CIDT delivered a functional IBC Light Client for Avalanche L1, enabling cross-chain interoperability with Cosmos-based chains. We provided extension and enhancement of key testing infrastructure: IBCtest, Avalanche Network Runner, and Highliner.
Our team also did a comprehensive end-to-end testing suite ensuring stability and correctness of the IBC implementation.
